When I moved to New York in 2005 I commented with tongue in cheek that is was a revelation to leave one country as a member of an oppressed minority to live in a city as a member of the master race.
Last night I attended (with many other Jews!) a wedding at the Mandarin Oriental hotel New York and there, at least, my assertion appeared to be true.
A beautiful bride, a beaming groom, an Irish female Rabbi (only in NY) delighted parents and dessert at 1am. And of course a range of rocks to make De Beers cry with joy.
